What affordable college in New York can I go to for these majors: art, botany, alternative medicine

What affordable college in New York can I go to for these majors: art, botany, alternative medicine ?
I'm asking this because I want to know if there's a college around the New York Metropolitan area that has all three, and that's affordable, becasue I can't afford a good college and I DON"T WANNA get student loans. I want to know where to go where it would be easier for me to get a job and pay off (For example, FIT is cheap enough for me to work for to pay)

Answer 1 :
Alternative medicine is the outlyer. That's not a major taught by most respected US colleges. You may need to be flexible, and find a college that will allow you to design your own major, rather than one that actually has an alternative medicine major. FIT isn't a fit, because they're an art/design/fashion school, not a broad uni, so they don't offer botany as a major. Hunter College is a good art school, a CUNY so it's cheap, offer botany as a major, and may allow you to pull together something for alternative medicine. I'd have you look at them.

Any Advice when moving to New York City to start College

Any Advice when moving to New York City to start College?
Hi everyone! I'm a(n) 2008 early high school graduate country boy from Warren, Arkansas and I am planning on moving to New York in January for college. I'm transferring from the Westwood College online campus to The City College of New York. I need some advice when moving to the big apple, because I'm kind of nervous leaving the south and beginning the city life. P.S. If there's anyone who's already going to college at CCNY, can you tell me your experience at this college and the city Thanks everyone!!!

Don't do meth.
Answer 2 :
My friend, in regard to housing in New York City, my advice don't rent an apartment in Manhattan unless you have a good roommate who will help you out with the rent. I would recommend rent in the boroughs outside of Manhattan (The Bronx, Staten Island, Queens or Brooklyn), you will find affordable apartments there. Second, since you're going to college, you're in luck. If you're living in the outer borough you can take the subway from either The Bronx, Queens or Brooklyn into Manhattan. City College is located on 137th Street and Convent Avenue and the nearest subway station is the 137th Street-City College Station on the #1 subway line. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck Native New Yorker
Answer 3 :
Have a great time, I couldn't think of a better city to go to college in.
Answer 4 :
I don't understand these country people coming here, I don't think that city college offer dorms, what I can tell you, my friend, is that don't think ur gonna be living a glamorous life in Manhattan, if I were you, find some roommates and live in Brooklyn, don't act scared to leave Manhattan, and don't ask stupid NY questions, we HATE that....also don't talk iish about other boroughs being all mobsters and gangsters, we hate that also. Also City College is Part of the CUNY/SUNY systems, great and cheap, it's a good college, don't do drugs, and don't talk to the homeless

Answer 1 :
The out of state tuition is going to be a killer. University of California and California State University systems are subsidised by California taxpayers. So if you come here, you're going to pay the full rate. Sure, you can get a loan, but remember, you have to pay it back! It's going to be a financial hardship.
Answer 2 :
Out of state tuition will cost you more than twice what a California resident or illegal alien will pay. With California's budget problems the state supported Colleges and Universities have already raised tuition rates twice this year, registration of new students has been reduced, and some forms of financial aid has been completely eliminated. However, as an out of state student you stand a good chance of being accepted because they want that expensive tuition you will pay.. Good luck, and bring lots of money with you.
Answer 3 :
from New York to CSULB? really??? the other two answers are correct, out of state tuition fees are a killer! CSULB is ok....if you're already here in CA! but not worth it if you'll have to pay double the fees. Even if you go to another university here in CA, you still have to pay out of state fees. Try looking into private universities, it might even be more expensive but they have more available in scholarships. Good luck!
