I'm planning on going to college in New York and was wondering what are some of the best colleges

I'm planning on going to college in New York and was wondering what are some of the best colleges.?
I live in PA but I want to go to college in New York. I know it will be hard because I'll have to drive there all the time. Its expensive to live there and I dont want a room mate. What should I do? What are good colleges there. Thank you so much for your answers!

Answer 1 :
Cornell in Ithaca NY is a top college, as are Columbia, Barnard, and NYU in NYC. But I wouldn't recommend anything in NYC if you want your own apt - it would be ridiculously expensive.
Answer 2 :
The three colleges that stand out in New York are Columbia, Cornell, and NYU. Columbia and Cornell are both Ivy Leagues, so they are very prestigious colleges. Although NYU is not an Ivy, it is till an extremely competitive and good college (#1 Dream School in America)! Cornell is in Ithaca, which is a small but beautiful town =) Columbia is one of the hardest Ivy's to get into. It has excellent core curriculum classes. One downside to Columbia would be its location, which is right next to Harlem in NYC. Otherwise, it is a great school!

Answer 1 :
Juilliard school of the performing arts.
Answer 2 :
The Juilliard Schools a performing arts conservatory. It is informally identified as simply Juilliard, and trains in dance, drama, and music. uilliard is consistently ranked among the top 2 or 3 most selective institutions of higher learning in North America. Drama training at Juilliard combines the truthfulness, imaginativeness, and emotional realism of the American tradition in acting to the meticulous attention to physical and vocal technique represented by the European tradition. We offer this integrated program to address the whole artist: you will learn to bring your voice, body, mind and emotions together to become any character from any tradition, classical to contemporary. And of course, during the four years of your training, you will meet, work with, and see the work of the finest theater artists, here at the center of one of the world's great theater cities. I would defenetely choose Juilllard. Well good luck whatever you choose
Answer 3 :
Juilliard has lost its sizzle as an acting school. It's still more a music school. Many agents and industry people in general say that Tisch (NYU) has the best collegiate program, even over Yale! Will you gain a lot from going to an acting school? Maybe! Do you need to in order to be a good actor? NO! Compare Acting Alumni Lists. TISCH! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NYU_Tisch_People http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juilliard#Notable_alumni

New York City or San Francisco for college

New York City or San Francisco for college?
Those are my two top choices for where I would absolutely love to go to college, though New York is my number one (SF is like my fallback town.) What are the good and bad things about each? Where is the college life generally better? Which is safer for people who do not conform to social norms like myself? Which is more economical (bang-for-the-buck including college costs)? Which is just all-around BETTER? THANK YOU!! :)

Answer 1 :
If you go to a public college, it is about the same cost. I went to college in New York years ago and I live in San Francisco. There is no comparison. NY has resources you dont find in any other city. I would never take back my experience of college there for anything. It opened up my mind and nourished my soul. S.F. is rather small and unimportant by comparison. NY is exciting, dynamic, fast, opportunities, progress, talent, academics, learning. Everybody important in the world goes to NY. Every big city appeals to non-confirmists.

I think so but just to be safe, you should ask a police officer or check the NYC crime area reports and statistics...stay safe
