How hard is it to find any kind of work for a newly college graduate in New York City? Read Below?
I am considering moving to New York city after college (my major is Journalism) and I just was wondering how tough is it to find work in The city. I will be willing to work anywhere to just to get my feet wet and I have experience in writing for a news paper and working for a television station so I was just wondering how tough would it be. I would even be willing work somewhere other than media at first in NYC.

What's your degree in? The economy has tanked, so you're certainly not alone. If your time is several hours behind or ahead of mine in Charlotte, NC---then you must be planning a move to New York. Expensive as h*** especially in the city. But then too wages are much higher than down here. Plus you can join a union there, the South just doesn't like unions. My Dad helped form the Communication Workers of America (CWA), went on strike, and Southern Bell got real, if ya catch my drift ;>) My hub's from across the river in Clifton, NJ--I'll talk to him & maybe he can provide some suggestions.

It's College...not High School...no body gives a damm on what others wear....
Answer 2 :
omg what a rude and untrue answer from ray r. umm if she has a problem with dressing too sexy, maybe you should do like a three quarter sleeve blouse with a v-neck but NOT too low. no cleavage. you can choose a deep saturated color, like olive green, deep royal blue, or dark red. that paired with jeans and a big bag would be good. if she's not into the blouse thing then she can wear a nice t-shirt. if you want something even more dressy, she can wear a dress with sleeves, maybe printed and flowy. if you do that, keep the bag quieter. tanktops with spaghetti straps and such are probably not the best idea to meet her professors in. good luck!

What should I wear to my visit at a college in New York City on Wednesday

What should I wear to my visit at a college in New York City on Wednesday?
Well, I have two outfits picked out, so I'd like it if you chose one, that way I could see which one everyone likes more. They are pretty much the same outfit-- just different colors. Just if it means anything-- I have blue eyes and curly brown-- sort of blond hair. Thanks. Outfit #1: Short-sleeved gray polo shirt with pretty long denim shorts with gray New Balance sneakers. Outfit #2: Short-sleeved sort of bright green polo shirt with really long khaki shorts with totally white New Balance sneakers. This college thing isn't formal or anything, so don't tell me that I have to dress up. I've tried dressing up for these things before, and I just end up looking stupid. Which outfit do you think would look better? Thanks everyone.

Thong.

clothes
Answer 3 :
Wear nothing!!! GO STREAKING!!!
Answer 4 :
flip flops
Answer 5 :
Go with LONG cargo pants, not too baggy...grey or other contrasting polo shirt. If it's cool, a light sweater to dress it up; a pair of flat track shoes round out the look...
Answer 6 :
Both sound good. I say just wear something comfortable and cool since its hot, which both those choices are so just go with which ever, although personally I love the color green.
Answer 7 :
Nyc is pretty hot n humid lately so its good that your picking out short sleaves and shorts. you know now that i think of it .. you can wear outfit two if you chose to wear flip flops .. its hot man. besides the white sneakers dont go if you dont want to wear flip flops go for #1 then ... but i really think 2 n flip flops look cute n relaxed
Answer 8 :
Outfit #2 sounds good but I'd go with jeans instead of shorts. Just my opinion. Hope it helps.
Answer 9 :
i think you would look good if you wore #2
Answer 10 :
Polo and Khakis and new sneakers or walking shoes are fine. This is not a formal interview for a particular school or department. This is not a portfolio review where your look is as important as your presentation. This is more than likely a group tour of the campus layout, some overview lectures to the group about the merits and offerings and schools of the university, financial aide information, etc., etc. Very general group tour stuff. You may be able at this time to visit the department of your intended major, touring some of the classrooms, etc. but again, very informal, information gathering tour only...For this kind of tour or visit to the campus you should show up clean and dressed neatly, and be prepared to do a lot of walking about the campus. You will want to represent yourself well, but also be dressed for a walking tour, which means 'nice casual' clothing. Good luck with your education.

Nope. Go do some more research. Ive heard of NYU though. Back in the west coast, you only hear about legit ivy league schools like Harvard or Yale that are east coast material.
