I want to pursue a career in film directing? what is a good new york college to go to?
I want to be a film director when I get older. What courses are good to take in high school? My role model is Tim burton, i think he is one of my favirote directors of all time. I want to stay in new york college area.

I'd say you're fortunate to be already in the New York City area to start your career. Tim Burton is a very great creative force, and I believe if society eliminated film as a medium, he'd find a way to make his work on playing cards or the like. High school only offers certain outlets for creativity, and I'd focus on generating an art portfolio along with a strong backround with computers and raw digital media. Columbia is a great school with a lot of guest celebrity creative types and exposure for yourself. As far as nuts and bolts, the SUNY schools are good as well. I am a visual artist and am not familiar with the film schools per se, but be careful to avoid a cattle farm of false promises in a film school. Good luck.
